The Outside the Box Outreach Committee consists of volunteer members of Grace
English Lutheran Church. The mission of this group is to serve the children who reside
within the Berlin Area School District boundaries. Its vision statement is to follow Christ’s
word to ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ (Matthew 22:39) by improving the lives of those
in need within the identified geographical area.
The group is funded through the generosity of congregation members at the annual
meeting. When approved at the meeting, funds are dispersed from the Leonard Jones
Memorial Fund using a formula containing an identified percentage and five year rolling
average.
Members have worked closely with the Berlin Boys and Girls Club in seeking project
needs that will make lives of Berlin’s youth easier such as providing gym shoes,
clothing, personal hygiene products, teaching families how to cook, etc. As needs
increase, committee members will also reach out to the school district and county
agencies to determine if there are other areas where youth could be supported.
Anyone is welcome to participate through volunteering on a specific project, donating
items toward an identified need, or attending a committee meeting to obtain more

Men of Grace meet monthly on Saturday morning for breakfast and Bible study.
The Women of Grace spearhead outreach to our community by providing treats and gifts for homebound members, participating in a drive to provide Christmas gifts for needy families, hosting and assisting with the Bloodmobile, and helping with many other efforts.
Adult Bible Study led by the pastor meets weekly on Thursday evenings for anyone interested.
