Pastor Dione Miller
I currently live in Waupaca, I grew up on a grain farm in Southeast Iowa where my family still farms today. I had an early appreciation for the church-at-large, particularly the global church, as I learned about the wideness of God’s love and activity throughout the world through my aunt who was a nurse-midwife missionary in Liberia, West Africa for 26 years. We attended ELCA Global Mission Events together as I was growing up, which only solidified my wonder.
One of those events was held at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa when I was in fifth grade, and I decided
on the spot that that was where I would attend college, which I did, studying religion, international
studies, and chemistry. I then attended seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. During
seminary, I completed my pastoral ministry internship at the International Church of Bangkok in
Bangkok, Thailand, an international, interdenominational congregation representing people from over
thirty different nationalities.
In May of 2016, I was ordained to the ministry of word and sacrament and
was called to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca where I served as Associate Pastor until this past November.
I enjoy having fun in ministry and am always willing and eager to share a good story and lots of laughs. I
also enjoy pastoral care in crisis and appreciate deep conversations about the world, faith, and what our
part in it all is. God is up to some exciting things in the world, and I’m looking forward to hearing what
God is doing in and through you all to be a part of God’s unfolding mission in the world.
