Committed to Instilling Faith into All Congregants
Worship & Music Coordinator
I grew up helping to lead music at Grace. While attending Carthage College, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Piano Pedagogy, I became the Director of Music at Bethania Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin. After 10 years at Bethania, I moved to St. Edward's Catholic Church in Racine as their Director of Music and also taught elementary and middle school music. After moving back to the area, I was given the opportunity to serve as the Worship and Music Coordinator at Grace.
I have a great passion for church music and worship. It is so important that worship is a meaningful experience so we can live out our faith every day.
I moved to Berlin when I was 4 years old. My family joined Grace Lutheran Church, and my dad directed the choir, and my mom was the organist. I joined the adult choir when I was in middle school, and sang with them all the way through high school. While attending college in Stevens Point, I became the Adult Choir Director at the Berlin United Methodist Church. I led that ministry for 10 years, leading the choir in Christmas Cantatas and weekly pieces to enhance the worship service. When the opportunity to direct the choir at Grace Lutheran opened up, I jumped at it. My wife Carissa, and kids Kaden, Kara, and Caelyn joined Grace with me not long after I returned. It has been a great experience with a great group of people, and we enjoy singing each week, preparing 3 pieces for Easter, and a Christmas Cantata that we sometimes take on the road. We are always welcoming new members and would love to have anyone join! Soli deo Gloria!
